UMEED FOUNDATION
Established in 1971, Markaz-e-Umeed became a school for special needs children. At a time when there were no Departments at the Government level for Special persons (set up in 1985) and no visible efforts for the recognition of disabled population, the Markaz was set up as a special initiative at Karimabad where it still stands today and where there are still very few or no schools for children with disa bilities
