The Free Kidney Dialysis Center, established by the Nowshera Lions Club in 2010, has become a vital resource for impoverished patients in the region. However, it is the generous support from the One Ummah Foundation (OUF) that has significantly enhanced the center’s capacity to serve those in need.
A Partnership for Change
The journey of the Free Kidney Dialysis Center began with the commitment of the Nowshera Lions Club, which sought to provide free dialysis treatments to the underprivileged. Initially supported by a donation of four dialysis machines from the Noor Foundation UK, the center has since expanded its services through community collaboration and generous contributions from local businesses.
However, it was the timely intervention of One Ummah Foundation that proved crucial in sustaining operations amidst rising costs. In 2023, OUF recognized the urgent need for support and stepped in to help. Initially donating USD 300, the foundation quickly increased its commitment to PKR 100,000 per month, ensuring that the center could continue to provide life-saving dialysis treatments without interruption.
Impact of One Ummah Foundation’s Support
Thanks to the ongoing support from OUF, the Free Kidney Dialysis Center has been able to cover essential operational costs, including:

Salaries for Staff: The funding has allowed for the retention and hiring of skilled staff, which is vital for delivering safe and effective treatments.
Expansion of Services: With OUF's assistance, the center can maintain its operations without the risk of shutting down services due to financial constraints.
The dedicated staff at the dialysis center ensuring patients receive proper care, supported by OUF’s donations. Currently, the center operates on an annual budget of approximately PKR 7 million. OUF's regular donations play a pivotal role in meeting these expenses, enabling the center to continue serving those who rely on it.
