The Day a Seed of Hope was Planted
March 23 is the anniversary of immeasurable loss for a family whose life plunged into darkness in an instant. It is also a day that planted seeds of light and hope into millions of needy children and families.
On that fateful day, Mustafa Saeed Rahman was taken away from his family in a senseless car crash, but it also brought about the birth of a vibrant, resolute and impactful organization supported by thousands of donors and inspiring hundreds of volunteers across the world to make sure Mustafa’s memory and legacy becomes a shining beacon of hope for years to come. A family’s remarkable decision to convert their darkness into light and hope for others, especially children like Mustafa, is a wonderful, warm and inspirational story for many of us.
That seed that was planted during adversity is now a major force bringing hope to millions of those children and families in need. In the past 19 years, One Ummah Foundation has reached 150,000+ children via projects focused on education, health and nutrition with the overarching goal of eliminating child labor by breaking the cycle of illiteracy and poverty in underdeveloped countries.
Recently, One Ummah Foundation started to lead a coalition of like-minded non-profit organizations to address the plight of the thousands of Rohingya children and families who are going through ethnic cleansing of genocide proportions.
In a world perceived to be full of darkness and lack of hope, we take comfort from the story of Mustafa and his family and find inspiration from the work of One Ummah Foundation. Please join hands and make a difference…
...Let’s dare to reach out into the darkness to pull another hand into the light!
